3 Reasons You're Not Getting Item Upgrader Isn't Working (And Solutions To Resolve It)

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost an item's Rarity or Mark Level and increase other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increase when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be changed in order to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and is visible on all item tooltips. It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). The average level of the item can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear players can evaluate the item level. It's an indicator of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done by using the level of the item.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its level. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines the worth of an item's stats really are. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

It's not the only factor that affects the value of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For example it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat mods which are then boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded once, while an item with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes can do things like give the item extra damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can choose to upgrade an item by a specific stat, or reroll attaches. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's an exclusive item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. But, like  item upgrader , this would need to be done on a per-item basis and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each item level and can be further increased by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor, and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an overall success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
