World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. item upgrader can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.
When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced with the new item. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). This item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its non-upgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its initial state, which requires the player to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to take every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost mentioned above.
